The ILSI Asian Conference on Food and Nutrition Safety (ACFNS), held once every four years since 1991, is recognized as a regional scientific forum to review, discuss and address the science that ensures the safety of food and water supply. The 5th in the series, with the theme 'Science-based Solutions - Sustainable Actions' , will be held in November 2008 in Cebu, Philippines. This timely meeting will focus on the latest global issues and those pertinent to Asia, addressing emerging and re-emerging food and water safety concerns impacting the farm-to-table continuum.

Renowned scientists from international agencies, governments, health and research institutions, as well as the industry will share their perspectives; discuss best practices and the harnessing of new technologies for sustainable actions to secure safer and better food supply.
In conjunction with the 5th Asian Conference on Food and Nutrition Safety, ILSI-SEA Region is also organizing a Satellite Symposium on Biotechnology and Nutritionally Enhanced Food and Crops from November 3-4, 2008, at the same venue. This symposium will review and update on the scientific underpinnings on the development, recent application as well as the safety and nutritional assessments of nutritionally enhanced biotech-derived crops and products.
There will be Poster Sessions to complement the conference plenary and symposia sessions. Researchers and scientists are invited to submit abstracts in line with the conference theme and session topics for poster and oral presentation.
